Full Extent This button will take the map display back to the full view of the Map. Map layers that you were viewing may not appear on the display if they were scale dependant.

 

Zoom In & Zoom Out To zoom into an area, click on the zoom in tool, then either click on the map and the map scale will decrease by 50 percent and the location clicked will become the center of the new map. Watch the map scale change in the bottom right corner of the map viewer, or draw a box by clicking inside the display and holding down the left mouse button to drag a box over the area you wish to zoom in to. Note that this tool will remain selected until another tool is activated. Zoom out works in the opposite way of Zoom in. Each time you click on the map the map scale will increase by 50 percent and the object will become farther away and smaller. Watch the map scale change in the bottom right corner of the map viewer. You can also draw a box by clicking inside the display and holding down the left mouse button to drag a box over the area you wish to zoom out to. Note that this tool will remain selected until another tool is activated.

Pan This button will allow you to move the map display in any direction. Click on the Pan tool, then click and hold on the mapping dragging the mapping in the direction you would like. Note that this tool will remain selected until another tool is activated.
Identify This tool is used to get more information about the features showing on the map. The Parcel Layer is the default map layer when selected. When you use this tool, the application will try to find information from the default map layer. If this is not the layer you are interested in, a dropdown list will be available for you to select the layer you want more information about. To use this tool, click on it, then click inside the map on the feature you are interested in. For example, if you want more information about Points of Interest, make sure that Points of Interest are visible, then click directly on the feature that you want more information on.

Previous Map/Next Map This will take you back to the previous map display you were looking at. So, if you zoomed in to an area and realized it wasn't quite where you wanted to be, you can click this to go back to where you were on the map before.  Use of this tool will not de-activate other currently selected tools. After you go to previous map by clicking on next map you can go to the last map that you were veiwing. Use of this tool will not de-activate other currently selected tools.

Overview Map This button will pop up an overview map showing the full city outline as well as either an X or a box showing your map extent you are currently viewing.
Print This will create a "Printer Friendly" map of the area you are currently viewing.

 

 

Email this Map If you would like to send an email of the current map you are viewing, this button will allow you to do this. You will be prompted to enter some information - the fields marked with a red asterisk are mandatory. Click on this icon to activate the mail tool. A pop-up window is presented which will require entry of the recipient email address, the subject, and your return email address. Click on the “send mail” button to send the email to the recipient. A message in bold red will appear in the top of the window indicating the email was successfully sent or if an error occurred.
